Fucking asshole redux

The charrette this last weeekend was a success of sorts. Each team was headed by a local professional firm and was supposed to have grads and undergrads on it. I signed up to be on the RTKL team, but unfortunately, no other grad students did. And RTKL only sent one professional for the duration and one for part of Saturday. Fortunately, I was able to snag an unaffiliated pro to help or we would have been totally screwed. We also had 6 architecture undergrads who had not even started their studio sequence yet. Their contribution was to stand around and watch.

Many of the other teams had upwards of 20 pros and grads on them. As a result of our team size, there were very heavy workloads for those of us who knew what we were doing. But the positive side was that with only 3 people doing the entire design, you knew your ideas were well represented in the final. A fair tradeoff, but caused the charrette to be even more of a timesuck than expected.

My professor has been upgraded to Fucking Asshole again. This time he has truly added to his magnificence by getting the day wrong for a critical meeting. Originally, we were supposed to be in OC by 10am Saturday. Now it is 10am _Friday_. I guess it's just 24 hours but that means a day of work missed and yet another night away from home. I will now have to make MMs birthday cake on Thursday, as well as making certain that everything is ready for his party then. Not like I had anything better to do :^* Then, the piece de resistance! The prof is now requiring that we all show up at school prior to this outing to sign waivers and get info from him. We were just there all weekend. And he couldn't do it then?!? So yet another unecessary trip to Baltimore out of either work time or thesis time.

The only positive aspect I can eek out of this clusterfuck is that I am now pissed off enough to tell him, very professionally of course, that I will not be returning after MMs party on Saturday. Perhaps I will get to attend the housewarming party after the mongols go to bed or even part of the Sunday practice.
